Gin Cocktails

Hello there!

In summer, I do like a cocktail now and again so I wanted to share three gin-based cocktails. It is all about the garnishes in these recipes, with much of the flavour and fragrance coming from berries, fresh herbs and even vegetables. This blog post contains three different recipes including a classic combination of strawberry and lime, the little out there cucumber, blackberry and rosemary and one inspired by the flavours of a bloody Mary. I hope you get to try these out with friends and family this summer. Enjoy!

The Recipe: Gin Cocktails

1. Strawberry and Lime

200ml tonic or lemonade

50ml gin

Ice

To garnish:

Lime wedges

Fresh strawberries

Combine the gin and tonic or lemonade. Add a squeeze of lime juice and add the lime wedges, fresh strawberries and ice to serve.

2. Cucumber, Blackberry and Rosemary

200ml tonic or lemonade

50ml gin

Ice

To garnish:

Small handful blackberries

5 cucumber ribbons

Sprig rosemary

Combine the gin and tonic or lemonade. Fold the cucumber ribbons around cocktail sticks and add to the glass with blackberries, a rosemary sprig and ice to serve.

3. Tomato, Celery and Chilli

200ml tonic or lemonade

50ml gin

3 tsp tomato puree

Ice

To garnish:

Stick celery

Sprig flat-leaf parsley

1-2 cherry tomatoes

Sprinkle chilli flakes

Combine the gin and tonic or lemonade. Add the tomato puree and stir to dissolve. Add celery stick, sprig of parsley and cherry tomatoes halved and placed on a cocktail stick. Sprinkle with chilli flakes and add ice to serve.

I hope you enjoy these cocktails and remember to drink responsibly.
