New Year Fruit Smoothies

Hello there!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! I thought it would be good idea to share with you some of my favourite fruit smoothie recipes which can be enjoyed as part of a healthy diet since some people choose to lose weight or eat healthier as part of their New Year's Resolutions. Lots of these recipes can be adapted to fruits you prefer or can have different things added depending on your diet or just ingredients you prefer. Enjoy!

The Recipe: Fruit Smoothies
For all these recipes serve one so just place all the ingredients in blender and blend until smooth, it's as easy as that!

Recipe 1: Breakfast Smoothie

I really like this smoothie as it's very filling so it is good to have for breakfast or instead of having a cup of tea. You can change the berries for different ones if you prefer other types, such as replacing the raspberries with more blueberries.

  • Half a frozen banana
  • Large handful of mixed frozen berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries)
  • 80ml semi-skinned milk (or soya)
  • 100ml cranberry juice,
  • Teaspoon of "superfood" - e.g. chia seeds, hemp, goji berries and lucuma
  • Add honey to taste, if desired

Recipe 2: Tropical Paradise Smoothie

This is one of my favourite smoothies as it has a really nice smooth texture and tropical flavours. This is perfect for people who aren't a fame of berry smoothies or prefer orange/citrus flavours. Since it is a tropical smoothie you could even add some coconut or lime zest.

  • 50g watermelon
  • 50g peach slices
  • 50g frozen mango chunks
  • 50g pineapple chunks
  • 100ml orange juice

Recipe 3: Mango-Goodness Smoothie

If you don't like peaches or bananas, a refreshing mango smoothie might be for you. It has a really smooth texture but still has the sweetness from the berries. If you wanted to add some more creaminess you could add natural or Greek yogurt.

  • 100g frozen mango chunks
  • 50g frozen mixed berries
  • 100ml cranberry juice
  • 50ml semi-skimmed milk
  • Add water if it becomes too thick due to the frozen fruit being used

Recipe 4: Peachy Fresh Smoothie

I find this smoothie a lot more refreshing so is a nice one to have in the afternoon. It has a lovely peachy aroma and can be cheap to make since you can use tinned peach slices instead of fresh peaches (make sure you buy them in fruit juice or syrup). If you prefer orange flavours you could use orange juice instead of cranberry juice.

  • 1 peach in slices
  • Large handful of mixed frozen berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries)
  • 100ml peach juice
  • 50ml cranberry juice

I hope you enjoy these smoothie recipes and find ways of adapting them so they become your favourites. Happy New Year!
